John Shannon is a licensed architect working across multiple U.S. States and internationally.
Our studio helps homeowners who are seeking to expand their livable footprint by creating ADUs or Small Homes on their properties. Whether it is attached or detached, these spaces allow for multi generational living, age in place options, family reunification, and equity building.

About
John is a licensed architect in the states of VA, DC, FL, MN, and CA.
With a Master of Architecture degree from Woodbury University and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Catholic University of America, he has designed, permitted, and built projects from luxury custom residences to Accessory Dwelling Units to remodels.
In addition to being an architect, John also held his contractors license in MN and CA and personally contracted many of the projects he designed.
As the founder of a successful design-build firm in San Diego and Minnesota, John brings a deep understanding of architecture and building science within multiple climate zones and construction methods.
Additionally, John splits his practice between the United States as well as Portugal with an office and warehouse in the Alentejo region that specializes in the design and construction of small homes.
